Somerset LOC finds itself in a secure financial position and is now able to allocate a more generous budget to those pursuing higher optometric qualifications.

As you may be aware, Somerset LOC has funded the final exams of post graduate courses for several years.  We are now in a position that we will fund the entire course fees.

We are allocating funds based on the greatest benefit to eyecare for the Somerset community, reflecting that the LOC budget is paid for by NHS GOS activity.   Reimbursement will be paid retrospectively to those still working in Somerset.  As a committee overseeing the enhanced services we will prioritise IP qualifications, however we welcome requests to fund any optometric post-graduate qualification.  Applications from dispensing opticians for further qualifications are also invited.
